Scholarships
The Minnesota Association for Environmental Education (MAEE) is proud to offer scholarships for environmental education focused conferences and professional development opportunities in Minnesota. What you need to know before applying:
- MAEE only provides scholarships for Minnesota based opportunities and for The Midwest Environmental Education Conference.
- MAEE’s priority is to reach a broad number and range of educators. We will reimburse registration fees up to $500 and cannot reimburse travel expenses.
- All scholarship recipients will be asked to write a short summary of their experience and how it benefited them or their students for MAEE to use on Facebook or our website.
- Individuals/organizations can apply for one scholarship per year.
- Scholarships are funded on a rolling basis.
Requests will be considered based on:
- Previous support.
- Has the applicant received a scholarship from MAEE in the past?
- New applicants will be preferred.
- Financial need.
- Applicants with a high need will be preferred.
Educator Scholarship - MAEE offers scholarship assistance for educators to buy supplies and resources to enrich their environmental education based learning environment. The funds are intended for educators in both formal and informal teaching settings. Applicants should be a professional (full- or part-time) in the field of education.
Student Scholarship - MAEE offers small scholarship assistance for students in the field of environmental education to help them complete their coursework or a certificate program. Scholarship applicants must be a student (full- or part-time) in the field of environmental education.
Conference/Professional Development Scholarship - MAEE offers scholarship assistance for educators to attend environmental educational based conferences or professional development opportunities.
Program Sponsorship - MAEE has limited funds to sponsor events or programs related to the field of environmental education.
Requests will be considered based on:
- Applicability of request to applicant’s goals. Will the resources or opportunity funded directly benefit the applicant's goals as an environmental education professional/organization?
- Involvement in MAEE. Is the applicant involved in the work of MAEE? Applicants with a dedication to MAEE’s mission and volunteerism will be preferred.
- Previous support. Has the applicant received a scholarship from MAEE in the past? New applicants will be preferred.
- Financial need. Applicants with a high need will be preferred.
